    Q: Is coaching the same as therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy? How are they different?

    • A: No, coaching is distinct from therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy. Coaching focuses on setting and achieving goals, improving performance, and developing skills for the future. It is a forward-focused process that helps clients identify their strengths and create action plans to achieve desired outcomes. In contrast, therapy, counseling, and psychotherapy typically delve into past experiences to resolve emotional and behavioral difficulties, heal emotional wounds, improve mental health and well-being, and address mental health concerns. While coaching can be therapeutic, it is not a substitute for therapy, and we do not provide therapy services. If you are unsure which approach is right for you, we would be happy to discuss your needs and help you determine the best course of action.

With a Bachelor's degree in psychology and ongoing Master's level studies in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) psychology, I have a strong foundation in organizational behavior and human performance. I also have experience in roles where I've implemented process improvements, facilitated team communication, and provided individual coaching support using models like OSCAR and GROW.

    • A: My credentials include a Bachelor's degree in psychology and ongoing Master's level studies in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) psychology. I am also a student member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the International Personnel Assessment Council (IPAC).
